It is my pleasure to introduce myself as a Ph.D. student of Dr. J. S. Yadav, FNA, FTWAS & Director, Indian institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad, India, working in the area of total synthesis of biologically active natural products and development of synthetic methodologies. During the period of five years Ph.D. programme, funded by CSIR, Govt. of India, I have been involved in the following projects:
Studies directed towards the synthesis of 2,3-dihydroxytrinervitanes (an antibiotic, which is under Phase I clinical trials) via intramolecular Diels-Alder cyclization, Julia-Kocienski olefination and Yadav’s protocol as the key steps.
IBX mediated facile conversion of 1, 3 diols to 1, 2 diketones by oxidative cleavage of
C-C bond.
Rapid and Efficient Protocol for the Synthesis of 4-chlorotetrahydropyrans using Niobium(V) chloride or Gallium halides.
Gallium chloride catalyzed three component coupling reaction of naphthol, alkyne and aldehyde: a novel synthesis of 1,3-dialkyl-3H-benzo[f]chromenes.
I want to explore further to the synthetic organic chemistry, there biological activity, medicinal chemistry/chemical biology.
